At Abhaneri, a village in the Dausa countryside, a stepwell called Chand Baori drops thirteen storeys into the ground: three and a half thousand narrow steps, cut in the eighth century, still laid in perfect order. Order on that scale is not decoration. It is what lets a thing hold.
This tote is built the same way. A wide, quiet shell of certified real leather that already glows amber and will deepen with every year you carry it, closed along its full width by a single metal zip. Twin flat handles, box-stitched at the anchors, sit at a clean shoulder drop. Along the lower front runs a caravan of camels, tooled into the hide by hand, one stamp at a time, and it is the only ornament the piece allows itself.
Inside is the order: a berth wide enough for a sixteen-inch laptop, a velvet-lined wall of slip pockets, card slots, a pen row and a leash for keys, so a working day has somewhere to sit.

How your bag is made
The hides are tanned with babul bark, then worked and laid out to cure by hand. It is the slow way, and the reason the leather softens with age instead of cracking.
